Check Risk Before Paying

DecideKaro secure payment logo

Is this number, UPI ID or QR code safe to trust?

Check suspicious numbers, UPI IDs, QR codes, payment links and messages before you trust them. We show the risk indicators, the evidence behind them and which sources we could not check.

Never share your UPI PIN or OTP with anyone — not with us, not with a "bank officer". You never need a PIN to receive money.

Paste from a call log, SMS or WhatsApp. We accept +91, 0 or 10-digit formats.

Context helps the engine weigh scam patterns.

If the caller sent you a message, paste it so we can analyse it together.

We cannot identify the caller, SIM owner or bank account holder from a mobile number. A number with no reports is not proof that it is safe.
UPI Fraud Guard assesses available information. It does not guarantee payment safety or automatically block transactions in other apps.

Stay safe checklist

  • Never share your UPI PIN or OTP. You never need a PIN to receive money.

  • Do not approve a collect request to receive a refund or prize.

  • Banks never ask you to install screen-sharing apps on a call.

  • Open bank links only from the official app or website you typed yourself.

  • Urgent “account blocked” messages are a common pressure tactic.

Urgent "your account will be blocked" messages with a link to a lookalike bank page.

Job & task advance fees

Easy online tasks that start paying, then ask for a refundable deposit.

How a check works

1. Paste or scan

Enter a number, UPI ID, link or message, or scan a QR code. We validate and normalise it first.

2. We query authorised sources

Beneficiary lookups, phishing intelligence, domain data and reviewed community reports. Every finding is timestamped.

3. You get reasons, not just a score

A risk band, confidence level, the evidence behind it, what we could not check, and safer next steps.

What this tool can and cannot do

We can

  • Validate number, UPI ID and link structure
  • Show reviewed reports with source and date
  • Compare expected vs returned beneficiary name when an authorised provider responds
  • Highlight scam phrases and explain why they matter

We cannot

  • Identify a caller, SIM owner or bank account holder from a number
  • Guarantee that a payment or recipient is safe
  • Block payments inside other UPI apps
  • Treat community reports as proof of criminal activity

Common questions

  • No. New scam numbers have no history, and numbers can be spoofed. A clean result only means we found no risk indicators in the sources we could check.
